Goju Ryu is one of the four traditional styles of Japanese Karate, founded by Chojun Miyagi Sensei. "Go" means hard (direct force) and "Ju" means soft (yielding/deflection). It balances circular, breathing-based soft movements with powerful, explosive hard strikes.
We welcome students from 5 years old and upwards. For kids (5-11), we focus on motor skills, discipline, coordination, and fundamental postures. For adults and teens (12+), training includes deeper technical and martial development.
All students must wear a clean white Karate Gi (uniform) with the official KAJ Goju Ryu Karate-Do badge stitched onto the left chest. Beginners are allowed to train in standard athletic wear for the first two weeks.
Our grading system is governed by official JKF Gojukai rules. Ranks start from white belt (10th Kyu), progressing through yellow, orange, green, blue, brown, and finally to Black Belt (1st Dan / Shodan). Grading exams assess Kata, Kumite, and Dojo etiquette.
